Journeying Together

*Thanks for your patience with this first-time mommy and her posting frequency!

As promised on my last post, I want to make a special introduction and give you all a chance to know more about the angels who have granted us our miracle in our daughter, Vivian.

I will no longer be referring to our friend as birth mother/expectant mother/EM. And though I haven’t talked much about the biological father, I’m glad to warm things up a bit by getting rid of the formal terms for writing and story telling purposes, and introduce two really wonderful people to you–with their approval, enthusiasm, and blessings, of course. (We’ve all agreed that this story HAS to be shared!)

Micayla (M) and Tom (T) have chosen us to journey a very special pathway in life together. One that has already brought upon much joy, healing, redemption, happiness, and friendship to ALL involved. I suspect that we will have our critics along the journey for the way we’ve chosen to share our lives, but that’s okay. The opposition will just give cause for us to give God all the glory for the wonderful story he’s writing in our lives!

With that said, M and T are fully aware that their decision and trust in us as the chosen parents for Vivian means our first priority is our daughter, her well-being, her spiritual and moral guidance, and the health of her relationships in life to the extent we can encourage her, that is. With that parental responsibility comes the discernment of appropriate times for her to be exposed to the truths and relationships that brought about this awesome story. And let it be known that the statement above is said with great enthusiasm ringing in my heart; I can’t wait for Vivian to fully grasp the special purpose and plan that God has for her and how it beautifully knitted a tapestry of so many lives! It’s ENORMOUS!

M is a beautiful, young 20’s gal. She has so much depth and honesty to share and every moment spent with her has been like turning about in a labyrinth of wonder, curiosity, adventures, and–quite honestly–a winding road of painful ashes turned to beauty. She makes me giggle so much! Her wide smile and eyes are a sight to behold. Learning her has brought about some very neat conversations; no doubt a story of God’s love for his sweet girl.

T is a handsome, mid 20’s guy. If I’m not mistaken, he’s of Greek and Sicilian heritage and German, too, I think. He has served our country, he is super-smart, cordial as the day is long, and has unique listening abilities. Conversations with him have left us feeling heard and cared for. We’ve witnessed as he has evolved in the past 10 weeks and we’re so excited about his thirst to know more about God.

And, as you can tell from the pictures I’ve posted, Vivian’s genetic make-up leaves no question as to how beautiful M and T are from the outside. Now, it’s up to us to continue savoring and being a part of all the beauty M and T possess on the inside! I don’t want to miss one step along the way and we are forever grateful that God has given us a unique journey to share together. We’re thankful, too, that it doesn’t just stop with the two of them. No, it reaches wider and higher than that! There’s M’s fan club, which I summarize to be everyone. on. Earth. No kidding! She’s loved and adored by so many! But seriously, her family and friends, along with T’s family and friends, have been so supportive of them and generous to us and Vivian.

We feel the love and best wishes with every breath…from all of them…from all of you…it’s just amazing!

Thanks for allowing me to introduce two of the most generous and amazing people that God has gifted us in life. Your prayers for them are appreciated. I know they feel them! Many of you have messaged me personally saying your thanks to them and how you’re praying. I welcome you to continue encouraging them, too! (You can leave comments here so they can read them!)

I love how God clears a pathway for you to minister to someone, and in turn, that someone ministers to you! My anthem of late has been Great is Thy Faithfulness, Great is Thy Faithfulness, Great is Thy Faithfulness, LORD unto me!

Let your mind start a journey thru a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be…Close your eyes let your spirit start to soar, and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before. -Erich Fromm

  1. M & T,

What a beautiful & selfless gift you have given to Julie & Eric. While my family prays for the Kent Family, you both are also in our prayers. My God continue to use you both.

It has been a pleasure to learn more about you & to get to know you through Vivian.

    Many blessings,
    Allison
